1- मोरारजी देसाई का जन्म 29 फ़रवरी 1896 को गुजरात के भदेली नामक स्थान पर हुआ था। उनका संबंध एक ब्राह्मण परिवार से था। उनके पिता रणछोड़जी देसाई भावनगर (सौराष्ट्र) में एक स्कूल अध्यापक थे।

2- मोरारजी देसाई की शिक्षा-दीक्षा मुंबई के एलफिंस्टन कॉलेज में हुई जो उस समय काफ़ी महंगा और खर्चीला माना जाता था।

3- श्री देसाई को स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के दौरान तीन बार जेल जाना पड़ा।

4- 1931 में वह गुजरात प्रदेश की कांग्रेस कमेटी के सचिव बने।

5- जब पहली कांग्रेस सरकार ने 1937 में कार्यभार संभाला, श्री देसाई राजस्व, कृषि, वन एवं सहकारिता मंत्रालय के मंत्री बने।

6- आपातकाल घोषित होने के समय 26 जून 1975 को श्री देसाई को गिरफ्तार कर हिरासत में ले लिया गया था। उन्हें एकान्त कारावास में रखा गया था 

7- देसाई जी 81 वर्ष की आयु में प्रधानमंत्री बने थे।

8- मोरारजी देसाई मार्च 1977 में देश के प्रधानमंत्री बने लेकिन प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में इनका कार्यकाल पूर्ण नहीं हो पाया। 

9- चौधरी चरण सिंह से मतभेदों के चलते उन्हें प्रधानमंत्री पद छोड़ना पड़ा।

01- देसाई ने किसानों एवं किरायेदारों की कठिनाइयों को सुधारने की दिशा में प्रगतिशील कानून बनाकर अपनी इस सोच को कार्यान्वित करने का ठोस कदम उठाया

11- देसाई जी का निधन 10 अप्रैल 1995 में हुआ था.
