1- गुजराल जी का जन्म 4 दिसम्बर 1919 को झेलम में हुआ।
2- गुजराल जी के माता-पिता स्वतंत्रता सेनानी थे जिन्होंने पंजाब के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में भाग लिया था।
3- उन्होंने 26 मई 1945 को श्रीमती शीला गुजराल से विवाह किया।
4- 1931 में 11 वर्ष की उम्र में श्री गुजराल ने स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में भाग लिया जिसमें पुलिस ने उनको झेलम में युवा बच्चों के आन्दोलन का नेतृत्व करने के लिए गिरफ्तार कर लिया और बर्बरता से पीटा।
5- 1942 में भारत छोड़ो आन्दोलन के दौरान उन्हें फिर से गिरफ्तार किया गया।
6- श्रीमती गांधी के ही सहयोग से 1964 में वे इंडियन नेशनल कांग्रेस पार्टी (INC) में सम्मिलित हुए
7- वह वर्ष 1989-90 में जल संसाधन मंत्री थे।
8- इंदर कुमार जून 1996 से राज्य सभा के नेता रहे।
9- 1980 में राजनीति के क्षेत्र में बदलाव करते हुए श्री गुजराल ने INC छोड़ जनता दल से हाथ मिला लिया.
10- 21 अप्रैल 1997 से 19 मार्च 1998 तक उन्होंने भारत के प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में भारत की कमान संभाली
11- श्री गुजराल राष्ट्रीय एवं अंतरराष्ट्रीय मामलों तथा थिएटर पर लेखन-कार्य और समीक्षा करते थे।
12- श्री गुजराल का निधन फेफड़ों में संक्रमण के कारण 30 नवंबर 2012 को हुआ. 92 वर्ष की उम्र में उन्होंने अपनी अंतिम सांसें ली .
